Clear Navigation is the Key to Good Web Design
Color, images, and custom graphics may be the first thing a person notices when visiting a website. But even the prettiest site will not grab people and get them to stay for very long if it is difficult to figure out how to get to the information they originally visited the site for.
The most important aspect of any website, personal or professional, is clear navigation. Your visitors need to be able to find the links they want without hunting around the site until they become frustrated. There are many ways to arrange navigation in a useful manner. You could put a menu along the top of the page, the side of the page, or both. Try to avoid using drop down menus because visitors may not realize that they need to scroll over the top term to find the link they need. Web Design Glasgow are experts at this sort of design.
Always make sure you have a clear link back to the home page of the site. The other main sections of the site should be listed clearly in a menu that stands out from the rest of the page. Do not hide menu items in graphical elements or rely on visitors to read the site text to find the important links. Place every main section clearly apart in a place where visitors would expect to find the links they need.
